2.0.17 Miscellaneous
Fixes and Improvements based on suggestions from PacTel,
Saddleback Valley Church, and NewTel.
|

On the reservation properties screen it
is now possible to select OK followed by No on the
"Change the Following Values..." prompt to exit
the form without saving the changes provided
that the old values are valid. In order for this to work
Confirmation on Alter Reservation Properties must be
enabled on the grid properties button.
. Selecting
on the Caption of a grid selects all rows on the grid
Entering an invalid asset name in the
request properties form is properly handled
The drop down menu for locations works
correctly on the request information screen.
In the read-only version selecting on the
intray with the right mouse button or with either mouse
button with the shift, alt, or ctrl key pressed will
display a read-only browser of the existing requests.
Selecting a row from any table gives the
table the focus, allowing the delete key to function
correctly
Multiple row deletes are available on all
editable data tables. Confirmation is asked before
deleting rows.
The reservation administration select now
has the option of selecting only future reservations for
editing
In reservation administration it is now
possible, by leaving the name field blank, to edit,
delete, or modify all unnamed notes of a particular
category for the selected reservations.
Right-clicking
on most grids and list boxes will show a form allowing
you to change the font characteristics.
There
are now three optional fields available for reservations.
The optional fields are defined as 20 characters of free
text. To enable them use the language editor to create
synonyms in your language (usually ENU) for the strings
"ReservationCode1",
"ReservationCode2", and
"ReservationCode3". The synonyms should be what
you wish the descriptive prompt for the optional code to
be. As there are additional fields to the
database the database update program (dataupd.exe) must
be run after upgrading from prior to 2.0.17.
The
latest maintenance releases of Crystal Reports and True
DBGrid have been included. Since these are system
components they should be installed in the Windows\System
Directory. The recommended path is to perform a full
install.

new reservation will have all of the properties of the
earlier reservation except for whether it is permanent,
which will be taken from the later reservation. This
allows you to, among other things, undo a gap placed in a
reservation.

(32
Bit) Quick Reports can now allow you to set the report
title and to set the paper to either landscape or
portrait. Column widths have been adjusted to minimize
occurrences of fields overlapping.

the actual programs it is still posted as 2.0.37

Bit) View whole day and view whole week have been
enhanced to allow view 2 days, view 3 days, view 2 weeks,
etc.
(32 Bit)

and the rooms which are part of them will need to be
defined in the Admin Version but the restrictions need
not be enabled.
(32 bit
and Extended) New feature on file menu allows users to
close and reopen the database. This can be used to insure
that all locks are released.
(Extended)
Improved Keyboard Navigation. Entering
<ctrl><letter> on the main screen will jump
to the tab for that letter. (For example ctrl-P will jump
to the P tab.) Numbers 1 through 6 will jump to the tabs
beyond Z used for locations, areas, etc. Once a tab is
selected entering the first few characters of a name will
jump the list of items to the first matching name.
Hitting Enter when an item is selected will open it. Thus
it should be possible to navigate to and open any item
with only a few keystrokes.

Start, Change End, Move, Gap, etc.) These can be seen
from the pop-up Tool-Tips. The escape key will close the
select form.
(Extended)
The date calendars are displayed directly rather than
needing to be dropped down, saving time when making or
changing reservations.
(Extended)
Printing work requests now includes the requestor's
organization and phone number.
(Extended,
Service Administration) Additional Daily Report showing
both the reservations starting for a room and the

format.

icon, that can be used to define other points of
interest, such as printers, fax machines, copiers, and so
forth. To define such a piece of equipment in Time and
Place Extended Add an Asset, Set the name of the asset to
the name which you want displayed, Set the Location check
box to unchecked and then define the
location as you would with a room.
(Extended
Locator) Additional minimize on idle setting added to

range control allow selection from a calendar in addition
to descriptive date text.
(32 Bit

the software with Jetcomp.exe. This is a utility from
Microsoft which is claimed to compact databases quickly
and avoid problems that can occur with Access 97 and with
the DAO CompactDatabase Method (the method used in the
T&P Database Utilities). Microsoft recommends this
utility be used instead of the other two methods. To use
this utility to compact your T&P.MDB file you will
have to specify some other name for the destination file
(such as T&PX.MDB) and then after the utility is
completed rename the files so that the newly compacted
database is T&P.MDB.
(32 Bit
and Extended) Bug in Quick Reports mislabeling
organization contact and phone when organization profiles
are included.
(32 Bit)
Problem solved when enabling restrictions on areas, event
types, or organizations when the item's (area,
organization, event type) name consists of numbers only.

2.0 format database or the 32 bit only Access 97 format
database. The Access 97 format database has been shown to
have fewer locking problems under the 32 bit version.
However the 32 bit Access 97 database will not work with
16 bit Time and Place, Time and Place version 1.0 or 1.1,
or Microsoft Access 2.0 or Access 95. If you are
changing from the 16 to the 32 bit data files you will
need to run the data update program no matter which
version you are upgrading from.
(Extended
Locator) If self-reservations have been enabled
(including time of day and day of week) then users can
also self-vacate their reserved rooms, either for the
entire remaining portion or for part of it beginning
immediately. As with self-reservations the user must
provide their ID number.
(32 Bit) Multiline
pop-ups added, allowing the pop up to include more than
one (or all) of name, person, organization, and event
type. (Users will likely have to re-define their pop-up
choice in grid properties)
 (32 bit and
Extended) Print Preview option added on all 'direct code'
reports (Quick Reports, Extended Daily Reports, Extended
Work Request, Print Confirmation (Non-Crystal)) and so
forth. The Print Preview option is available as a check
box from the Printers Tab. The Preview windows is limited
to reports of less than 256 pages. While the preview
window allows for printing of either the current page or
all pages the characters will not be as smooth as if
printed directly to the printer.

key for grid navigation.

the switch)

Remote Call Forward Automation) Created a second Remote
Call Forward Automation program (RCFWD2.EXE) that works
with the Switchint.exe program in the same manner as
DFx.exe. This allows the user to mix DFx and RCFWD on the

separate 'front end' and 'back end' processes.

(32 Bit Admin.) It is now possible to shift
the order of assets (rows) from within Time and Place!
Right click on the row label to bring up a pop-up menu to
shift up or shift to top. The Asset Reorganizer
is not longer needed and no longer supported.
When one Admin user changes the order of rows all other
users will see the changes the next time that they open
the program or perform a File|Re-Read Database menu
selection.
(32 Bit)
The pop-up follows the cursor across the grid at all
times, making it easier to select a correct asset and
start time.
(32 bit)
There is now an option on brief reports to include brief
notes (Category and Name only)
(32 bit)
There is now an option in Quick Reports - Brief and
Detailed Reports to exclude any linked reservations. Thus
if an event has a main location and several secondary
locations you can have only the main location appear on
the report.

included here too, This replaces the Exclude Unavailable

Reports. The names of the persons must be included in the
Attendees tab of the Reservation Properties.

data.
 (Extended Switch
Interface) Support for DFn multi-point included, allowing
multiple networked switches to act together, having
phones transfered between them as users reserve in remote
offices.
 (32 Bit) Ghost
Reservations Fixed. Ghost reservations were an unusual
case where a reservation was deleted and the date range
of the screen changed and repainted before another
reservation was selected or created, a 'ghost' of the old
reservation would still appear on the screen.
Quick
Reports better follow the settings in the printer tab.
(Extended)
Fixed problems with defining search profiles. Now
selecting the insert before and insert after buttons will
correctly position the current step on the new blank
entry. Choosing Select Persons will first save any

to a setting beside midnight

control passwords.

making it easier to specify start and end times and to
prevent inaccurate entries. In addition the location drop
down will now only show the rooms that are available for
the time period.
(Extended
Switch Interface) Fixed bug, inadvertantly added in
2.0.47, that prevented reservations with no event type
from being processed. The Switch Interface now does not
process any linked reservations.
(Extended
Locator) After making a self-reservation the new location
will be shown and the 'Reserve' button will be disabled,
preventing the user from immediately making a second
concurrent reservation.
(Extended
Locator) If the maximum days for a self-reservation is 1
then the date combo on the self-reservation for will not

(Extended)
Troubles when removing items from the list of profile
notes and the list of phones for a person. If one or more
whole rows are selected from either of these
